AMAZE : Stage Craft

Stage Craft
Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art, 82nd Annual Exhibition and Social, 2016-17.

The year 2017 was the year for the launch of the annual magazine of Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art which named 'AMAZE'. Hence the backdrop of the stage utilises the AMAZE logo originally created for the new magazine.

Explanation of logo : The logo is the calligraphic composition of the name AMAZE. The calligraphic strokes of the logo are thick and has been executed in dry brush to give it a multi-linear visual effect. These multiple lines indicate how the individual variety of the institute flows together in harmony, much like a family. The logo is designed by Sujay Kamble.

Design : The multi-linear calligraphic effect of the logo served as an inspiration for the backdrop. The lines are the only supporting design element which not only create movement in the backdrop but also compliments and emphasizes the logo. The stage employs achromatic colour scheme. The backdrop is in black and the design elements are in white which create good contrast during night which was the scheduled time for the inaugural function.
